Charley Jenkins
While many country artists struggle to establish their presence and identity in the country music industry, Charley Jenkins knows who he is and what he wants his music to convey to his audience. Charley believes that authentic country music should express what being country is really about. And he should know. Charley was born and raised on a farm in a rural town, and his music reflects the life of a real cowboy. Charley’s latest album, “The Way it Is,” is genuine country music thatCharley’s fans know him for with a refined edge that reflects his growth both personally and as a country artist. Charley’s country roots are spread throughout his music. Charley Jenkins was raised on a farm in a small town in Eastern Utah where he learned how to rope, ride and work hard. Life on the farm revolved around family, work, and of course, rodeo, which are all themes you will find in Charley’s music. Early on in Charley’s music career, he received some personal advice from one of his biggest musical influences,George Strait. Charley decided to load up his truck with everything he owned and leave his small town to move to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. While in Nashville, Charley worked for a songwriting publishing company on Music Row, became immersed in the country music industry, and befriended many Nashville legends.Charley eventually left Nashville to return to his hometown to help with the farm and to be with his family and his ailing father, who eventually lost his battle with cancer. Charley said, “Coming home was an easy decision for me, and I will never regret it.” Charley’s second album “Round Here” was released shortly after and is a perfect reflection of who Charley really is and where he came from. The album is also a tribute to his father, and he wrote the very personal song “Hero At Home” for his dad. With the overwhelming success of “Round Here,” Charley recorded and released his third album “Ridin” in August, 2007 and his forth in September, 2009 titled “HoldOn.”Each album reflects an authentic look into a country boy’s life with song titles such as Duct Tape and Bailing Wire, Country Music, Right Where I Belong, Hold On, and Rodeo Clown. In the summer of 2008, Charley was selected as one of 12 finalists out of 45,000contestants compete on the NBC television show Nashville Star. He was also invited to be interviewed and to sing on The Today Show in New York City.Since then, Charley’s career has gained momentum. He has maintained a strong presence in the industry over the years by touring and sharing the stage with many other country headliners including Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Josh Turner, , Taylor Swift, and many more.
Charley Jenkins continues to tour and customizes his live show to entertain every type of crowd, turning them all into fans if they aren’t already. His down-to-earth charm and his ability to interact with his audience draw the crowd in and keep them on their feet. Even if someone in the crowd isn’t a fan of country music, Charley will convert them for at least an evening. Charley has played for tens of thousands of people, and his fan base continues to grow due to his energetic and engaging live performances. Dan Truman of the legendary country band Diamond Rio said ofCharley, “He’s great! He’s real, and he’s full of energy and passion.”Charley is a country boy to the core. “Country is who and what I am. It is only natural for me to sing the songs that I love and relate to.”-Charley Jenkins
