4-H, FFA, AND OPEN LIVESTOCK SHOW SCHEDULE 2021

This Year’s Livestock Schedule will be as follows:

 

Monday, August 9th

Exhibitors are welcome to pen livestock in assigned pens before weigh-in starts. Barn gates will be unlocked at 8:00 am.

 

Market Livestock Weigh-In

1:00 – 2:00 p.m. .………… Livestock Committee Member Weigh-In

2:00 – 4:00 p.m. ……….… Market Hogs

4:00 – 6:00 p.m. ……..….. Market Lambs, Market Goats, and Market Beef

 

Tuesday, August 10th

8:30 a.m. …………………… Market Hogs

Market Lambs (following Market Hogs)

Market Goats (following Market Lambs)

Market Beef (following Market Goats. But not earlier than 3pm)

Knowledge Test 30 minutes after Market Beef followed by

Junior Judging and Ice Cream Social

 

Wednesday, August 11th

Order of Showing: Seniors 9th-12th, Intermediates 6th–8th , and Juniors 3rd-5th .

 

8:30 a.m. ……………………. Hog Showmanship

Lamb Showmanship following Hogs

Goat Showmanship following Lambs

3:00 p.m. ……………………. Market Beef Showmanship (tentative start time following market                                      goat no earlier than 3)

Thursday, August 12th

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. …………. Breakfast for supporters (FFA Chapters will be cooking)

9:00 a.m. ………………….. Jr. Market Livestock Sale (Hogs, Goats, Beef, Lambs)

 

Friday, August 13th

8:00 a.m. ……………….. Check-in for Breeding Sheep show

8:30 a.m. ……………….. Breeding Sheep Show (youth show)

10:30 a.m. ………………. Check-In for Goat show

11:00 a.m. ………………. Goat Show (youth show)

12:30 p.m. ……………… Bucket calf class (calf classes for youth Kindergarten- 6th)

1:30 p.m. ……………….. Heifer Show followed by Heifer Showmanship

3:00 p.m. ……………….. Poultry Youth Showmanship classes (open youth show)

 

**Please note that times and dates may have changed for the 2021 Livestock show**

There will no longer be any livestock events held on Saturday


In order to attend the Duchesne County Jr. Livestock Show and Open Shows the following steps must be completed:

1) 4H Members must be registered on  4h.zsuite.org by May 1, 2021 or before tagging.  If you are an FFA Member you need to be approved by your advisor by May 1, 2021. (If participating in open show proceed to step 3.)

2) Tag Animals. (Open show does not require this step.) Market Beef deadline by May 1, 2021. Market Lambs and Hogs by June 5, 2021.

3) Register ALL ANIMALS (Open, 4-H, and FFA) animal(s) by June 14, 2021 10pm at ( https://fairentry.com/Fair/SignIn/15002     Fair Entry

4) Regularly enter information into your Record Book so that it is up to date and complete at the time of weigh-ins. The record book & schedule can be downloaded at https://extension.usu.edu/duchesne/ under youth and 4H or on 4h.zsuite.org

5) Check Livestock Show schedule for dates and times of arrivals, weigh ins and shows.      We have made changes this year!

6) Have completed Record Book and Market Animals ready to weigh-in on August 9, 2021.
