4-H, FFA, AND OPEN LIVESTOCK SHOW SCHEDULE 2023

 

This year’s Livestock schedule will be as follows:

 

Monday, August 7th

Exhibitors are welcome to pen livestock in assigned pens before weigh-in starts.

Barn gates will be unlocked at 8:00 am.

 

Market Livestock Weigh-In/ Check In

2:00 – 4:00 p.m. ……….… Market Hogs

4:00 – 6:00 p.m. ……..….. Market Lambs, Market Goats, and Market Beef

6 P.M.       ………………… Exhibitor Meeting (for all exhibitors & parents)

 

Tuesday, August 8th

8:30 a.m. …………………… Market Hogs

Market Lambs (following Market Hogs)

Market Goats (following Market Lambs)

Market Beef (following Market Goats. But not earlier than 2pm)

Knowledge Test/Jr Judging…………… 30 minutes after Market Beef

 

Wednesday, August 9th

Order of Showing: Seniors 9th-12th, Intermediates 6th–8th , and Juniors 3rd-5th .

 

8:30 a.m. ……………………. Hog Showmanship

Lamb Showmanship following Hogs

Goat Showmanship following Lambs

Market Beef Showmanship following market goat (No earlier than 2pm)

6:00 pm ………………….. Awards (All livestock prizes & Awards will be passed out)

Thursday, August 10th

8:00 – 9:00 a.m. …………. Breakfast for supporters (FFA Chapters will be cooking)

9:00 a.m. ………………….. Jr. Market Livestock Sale (Hogs, Beef, Lambs & Goats)

 

Friday, August 11th

8:00 a.m. ……………….. Check-in for Breeding Sheep show

8:30 a.m. ……………….. Breeding Sheep Show (youth show)

10:00 a.m. ………………. Check-In for Goat show

10:30 a.m. ………………. Goat Show (youth show)

12:00 p.m. ……………… Bucket calf class (calf classes for Pee Wee ages 7 & under, Youth

ages 8 and in the 3rd grade to age 12)

1:00 p.m. ……………….. Heifer Show followed by Heifer Showmanship

2:30 p.m. ……………….. Poultry Youth Showmanship classes (open youth show)

3:30 p.m………………….Rabbit Show Check In

 

 


2023 Duchesne County Fair Livestock Entry Steps

If you are a 4-H member you need to be registered 4h.zsuite.org by May 1, 2023.

FFA Members need to be approved by a FFA Advisor with enrollment completed by May 1, 2023.

All Livestock entries must be entered by June 15, 2023. All Market Livestock entries will need a Cover Letter & Resume or FFA AET Record Books, which will be due July 26, 2023 or Weigh In to be eligible to participate in market round and the auction which can be found at 4h.zsuite.org or your FFA Advisor.

In order to be eligible for the Jr. Livestock Show and Open Shows, you must follow all the steps below.

1.) 4-H Members must be registered on 4h.zsuite.org. If an FFA Member make sure you are completely enrolled and have approval from your FFA Advisor, then proceed to step 2. If participating in open shows proceed to step 3 then step 5

2.) Tag Animals Market Beef by May 1, 2023. Market Lambs, Goats and Hogs by June 3, 2023.

3.) Register open, 4-H and FFA animal(s) by June 15, 2023 at  duchesnecountyfair.fairentry.com

4.) Work on entering information into Required 4H Resume and Cover Letter (found on 4h.zsuite.org),  or if you are FFA your AET Record book. These must be turned in by July 26, 2023 submitted to duchesnecountyextension@gmail.com or katrina.spencer@usu.edu to be eligible for the Outstanding & Premier Exhibitor Award.

5.) Check show schedule on 4h.zsuite.org, or Duchesnecountyfair.com, or extension.usu.edu/duchesne/, for dates and times of shows.

6.)  4H Cover Letter & Resumes and FFA AET Record Books are REQUIRED for entering the Market Division of the Duchesne County Fair Livestock Show. If you did not turn in a record book by July 26, 2023, you must turn in one at weigh in to be eligible for the Market Division and the Auction. You can still compete in the Showmanship. No Exceptions!!!
